Help and Hope for People in the Middle East

Critical aid opens doors for hope in closed countries

He did not fully understand how it was happening, but His son was getting well.

Ahmed* followed the majority religion and even supported the militaristic group that occupies his neighborhood and many others in his closed Middle Eastern country. But when his teenage son was injured in a car accident, everything changed.

Due to the severity of the crash, Ahmed’s son experienced brain damage. He was in a coma for quite some time. The family was told he might never wake up — and if he did, he would likely never be able to breathe, move, or eat on his own.

Ahmed was crushed. He needed help to care for his son while also providing for his wife and daughter. When he heard about the local Unto® team and their work, he asked for assistance. The staff began visiting his home and providing the family with critical aid like meals, blankets, clothing, hygiene items, and more. They also began praying for Ahmed’s son. Slowly he started to get well.

Today Ahmed’s son is back home. He can breathe and eat on his own. He still has a long road ahead of him. But Jesus is making him well. Recently, Ahmed began attending a discipleship group hosted by the local team. Despite the risks he wants to know more about Jesus.

The local team continues to visit Ahmed and his family. Each time they pray over his son in Jesus’ name. As opportunities arise they talk about eternal hope. In the midst of overwhelming circumstances, the family is experiencing the kindness of Jesus and learning more about the hope found in Him.

The gift of critical aid helps our local staff teams build relationships and share hope in closed countries and other tough places. When you support the Maximum Impact Fund, you help ensure suffering people have the meals, clean water, or critical aid they need — and can hear the transforming message of Jesus.
