Relieving Suffering in the United States

Campus students serve refugees in need of help and hope

Every year campus students from across the nation join with Unto® to relieve suffering and reveal hope to those in need. These students are the next generation of Christian leaders and humanitarian workers. Some of them travel around the world to assist with vision clinics or agriculture workshops. Others serve within North America — providing disaster relief to hurricane victims or serving refugees.

Recently a group of students went through Unto’s Becoming People of Welcome experience. Over the course of a week, they learned how to better serve those God has brought to our own neighborhoods and communities.

The students participated in a water walk to raise awareness about the number of people who still lack clean water. They learned the fundamentals of biblical humanitarian care. They also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to refugees.

One student shared,

Despite us not being able to speak the same language with the people we worked with, we were still able to communicate love and compassion through our actions. Jesus said people would know about Him through your love. This week we planted seeds through the work we did and how we loved others. The Unto mission trip allowed me to take back the lesson of how I can love the person next to me better and reflect Jesus. I am very grateful and blessed for this experience!

Your generosity makes it possible for Unto to help raise up future humanitarians who will take the kindness of Jesus and the message of His eternal hope to the toughest places. When you support the Maximum Impact Fund, you not only help provide suffering people with lifesaving humanitarian aid, you also enable students to serve on mission here in the United States and around the world.
