We are facing a global food crisis unlike anything we have seen in a century. Tragically, the situation just continues to worsen. The United Nations recently reported that 2023 will be “another year of extreme jeopardy” for the hungry. Up to 828 million people do not know where their next meal is coming from — millions are at risk for famine. We must stand in the gap and act now!
Over the next four months, Unto® plans to send 1.3 million meals to hungry people in 10 countries. Many of these places are experiencing record levels of hunger and are at risk for famine. They need our help now more than ever.
Because much of the food is donated, the cost to assemble, ship, and distribute each meal averages just 30 cents. Your gift today will provide nutritious meals for war victims, malnourished children, and families facing starvation.
In many tough places where our teams serve, the majority of people have never heard about Jesus. Their lives have been devastated by the terrors of war, famine, or other crises. They struggle to keep going and simply survive. Elizha Received Meals at Just the Right Time
Elizha* is a widow and mother of seven children. Despite her best attempts to provide for her children, war has ravaged their lives.
For the past nine years, their country has been overwhelmed by a civil war that has left millions displaced and created one of the worst humanitarian crises of the century.
When our local Unto team met Elizha and her children, they were living in a camp for the internally displaced. She told us, “I tried to find a job many times, but unfortunately, I couldn’t because I am an illiterate woman.”
Thankfully people like you stepped in to help. And our local staff members were able to provide the family with meals. Elizha was overjoyed! She shared:
“When I received the assistance, I couldn’t believe that we would have enough food for several weeks. I became hopeful and regained my desire to live longer. May God protect you and keep you safe.”
