Take Your Family on a Humanitarian Quest
By Amanda DeWitt
We hear a lot of stories about suffering. Our children hear them too.
With so much going on in our world, we all need a safe place where we can process, grow, and take action. You can help create that space — in your home, classroom, Sunday school class, or small group.
Help the children you love learn about the suffering people experience. Then equip them to do something that really makes a difference. We have created a free resource to guide you!
Our Humanitarian Quest is an interactive series designed to help you creatively talk with your children about suffering — it also includes ways you can work together as a family to relieve suffering for people in the toughest places.
Here are a few suggestions for how you can gather with your family, friends, or classroom to make the maximum impact this holiday season.
- Teach Generosity — Incorporate Our Humanitarian Quest into your classroom activities. Teach children how their generosity can make a difference in the life of a suffering individual or family.
- Give Back — After completing Our Humanitarian Quest in your school, children’s ministry, or small group program, host a give-back project where children and families can contribute to relieving suffering for people in the toughest places. Set a goal and creatively display it — along with the progress achieved each day or week — so everyone is inspired by the difference their generosity makes.
- Share With Friends — During Christmas break, allow your children to invite a few friends over to go through the quest. Spend time completing the lessons together and brainstorm ways you can make a difference.
- Celebrate the Meaning of Christmas — As your family gathers over the holidays, take advantage of the quest as a fun activity to do with your children and any cousins or guests who may be visiting. Our Humanitarian Quest can be used to help you focus on the true meaning of Christmas and how you can express the kindness of Jesus to those in need.
People around the world face unprecedented suffering. And it is easy to question if you can really make a difference.
This holiday season you and your children can make the maximum impact by learning about the difficult situations so many families face and then taking action to relieve their suffering. Together you can go on a humanitarian quest to express the kindness of Jesus to people in the toughest places.
Teach children how to share help and hope!
Our Humanitarian Quest is a FREE interactive series designed to help you talk with children about the suffering so many people around the world experience and how they can make a significant impact.
Discover real-life stories from people in the toughest places, study the Bible together, and take a walk in someone’s shoes as you explore activities and crafts that illustrate what life is like for people in need. Throughout the activity you will find discussion questions to help children process what they are learning and plan out practical ways they can care for people around the world.
