Every day, women and children in places facing extreme water scarcity walk 1-2 hours on average — oftentimes much longer — just to collect water for their families. They go despite dangerous terrain, extreme temperatures, and the risk of physical harm. To top it off, once they get their water, they have to carry that 40-pound filled container all the way back home.
This is one of the greatest sources of suffering on earth, but here’s the good news: you can do something about it.

This year Unto® plans to fulfill 199 clean water projects — including drilling new wells, repairing broken ones and distributing water filters — that will give 95,680 people access to clean water. Many of the countries where our staff serve not only lack clean water, they are also closed to the message of hope.
Providing clean water allows local staff members to access unreached people groups. It builds credibility with local authorities and increases their ministry effectiveness. At nearly every well-opening ceremony, the gospel is shared — and new churches are often established.
