EMERGENCY RELIEF
Venezuela Earthquake Relief
Help send emergency relief to those impacted by the earthquakes.
Rush Essential Items to Those Impacted by Earthquakes in Venezuela
Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24th, largely affecting the northern part of the country in Caracas, Venezuela’s capital and largest city. The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes, and more than 200 aftershocks, are among the strongest Venezuela has experienced in more than one hundred years.
Unto teams are currently monitoring and assessing the situation closely. We are also communicating with partners in the area. Your gift to support disaster relief can provide immediate assistance to help those impacted by these destructive earthquakes.
Your gift today can make a critical difference in the lives of those who are suffering. In times like these, we work to send lifesaving items such as:
- Meals and food supplies to feed those who have lost everything and are left with no access to food
- Essential supplies based on assessments from local staff members
Local teams will personally distribute the aid, pray with those impacted and share the message of Jesus as opportunities arise.
Would you give today to rush help and share hope with those impacted by the earthquakes?
Ministry Update
“When disaster strikes, the local church is often the first to respond — and the last to leave.” –Cru® missionary in Venezuela
Following the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, Unto has partnered with local Cru missionaries, local churches, medical professionals and humanitarian organizations to bring both tangible relief and the hope of Jesus to families whose lives were shaken overnight.
Over the course of several weeks, teams served in shelters, operated medical clinics, distributed emergency supplies, cared for children, offered trauma support and shared the gospel with people facing unimaginable loss.
Through the prayers and generosity of partners like you, tangible relief and ministry is able to continue, but the need is still great.
One team member shared after visiting the destruction, “Seeing the destruction firsthand completely paralyzes you. You simply don’t know what to say or do.”
Yet in the middle of heartbreak, God continues to work through His church.
Medical Ministry: Caring for Body and Soul
One Cru missionary shares the greatest opportunities during the response came through the Unto medical clinics.
In just three hours, the medical team treated 108 patients, ensuring each person received the medications and care they needed.
Yet every patient received much more than physical treatment.
Each encounter included compassionate listening, prayer, emotional support, spiritual conversations and the opportunity to hear the gospel.
Nearly every family carried stories of tremendous grief. Some had lost parents. Others had lost children. Many still have loved ones missing beneath the rubble.
Physical healing became an open door for spiritual hope.
The work isn’t finished
Even though most news platforms have stopped reporting on the events in Venezuela, the work is far from over.
Recovery will continue for many months. Local churches remain at the center of ongoing ministry, providing practical assistance while walking with families through grief, rebuilding and discipleship.
New teams continue arriving to serve alongside local Cru missionaries.
Please continue praying for:
- Families grieving tremendous loss
- Emotional and spiritual healing
- Continued opportunities to share the gospel
- Local pastors and church leaders
- Medical professionals and counselors
- Provision of food, clean water and medical supplies
- Strength and protection for volunteers
- Wisdom as churches transition from emergency response to long-term community restoration
- Electricity in La Guaira – many places still do not have it
Thank you for standing with Unto through your prayers and generosity.
As one Cru missionary shared, “This response has reminded us that while earthquakes can destroy buildings, they cannot destroy hope.”
