FAQs

What do I need to host a PACKHOPE experience?

You will need a large room with long tables for packing the items. You will also need plenty of volunteers to help!

How long does it take to organize?

Once you have contacted us and finalized your event date, we suggest allowing at least four to six weeks in order to organize and promote the event, collect supplies and recruit volunteers.

Do I need to purchase supplies beforehand?

If you are planning to pack school supplies, you can use our Amazon Wishlist to purchase supplies ahead of time. You may also wish to host a school supply drive and encourage your congregants, students or staff to collect and donate the supplies prior to your PACKHOPE event.

If you are packing meals, we ask that you cover the cost of the rice, beans/lentils and supplies. We will discuss a suggested donation amount based on the size of your event. You may wish to cover this amount through your church or corporation. Or you can ask volunteers to give when they sign up to serve. Our staff member will deliver the rice and lentils/beans to your location along with the other items needed for packing the day of the events.

How long does a PACKHOPE experience last?

We suggest allowing one to two hours for packing school supplies or meals. That is what makes this such a great program for churches, campuses and corporations — you can make a significant impact in very little time!

“We had a wonderful time at the PACKHOPE event. It was so good to know that every box we packed was more than just food — it represented kindness, care, and a reminder that we can make a difference around the world.”

Rob

Director of Lake Hart

“We’ve loved the opportunity for our church to pause from the busyness of everyday life to pack school supplies — to take our eyes off ourselves and focus on the needs of others.

Jenn

Good Shepherd Community Church

We are blessed with so much, and it’s humbling to realize how little of the basic necessities others have around the world. It’s wonderful seeing multiple generations serving together locally in a way that has a huge global impact.
