Mark Gauthier

Chairman of the Board, Unto Vice President, Cru U.S. National Director, Cru

Mark, U.S. National Director of Cru, has served with Cru for more than 25 years, beginning as a staff member for Cru at Harvard University. In 1996 he joined the United States campus ministry leadership team and soon moved into the role of Executive Director of U.S. Campus Ministry where he served until 2020 when he was appointed as U.S. National Director.

Al Goff

President and CEO

Al has served as President and CEO of Unto since 2013. He has been active in disaster response, relief, and community development for over 25 years. Since 2001, Al and his wife, Susan, served in many countries doing humanitarian work with Cru. For several years Al served as a regional humanitarian director and crisis manager for Cru, operating from Paris, France. He has overseen response teams to many events including the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004, Cyclone Norgis in Myanmar, the Haiti Earthquake in 2010, and many more. Al served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Shield/Storm and has an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance. Al and Susan have two grown sons and live in McKinney, Texas.

Darryl Smith

BOARD MEMBER

Darryl Lamar Smith is the Director of Oneness and Diversity for Cru. He was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from Kirkman High School in 1983 and served in the United States Army for three years. God saved him in 1991; he was licensed to preach in 1992 and ordained in 1994. He has been on staff with Cru since 1996, working with high school students at Howard High School in Chattanooga. For six years he served as Chattanooga’s City Director and the Southeast Regional Director for three years. In the summer of 2006, Cru chose Darryl as the Executive Director for High School Ministry, in which he served until he was chosen as the Director of Oneness and Diversity in 2017. Darryl is married to Gwen and has three children.

Dave Hazelton

BOARD MEMBER

Dave Hazelton is a senior partner at an international law firm. After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School and clerking with a federal appellate court, he joined the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins where he has practiced law for the past 40 years. He married his high school sweetheart and they have three grown children. He serves as an elder, Sunday school teacher, and Bible study leader at Cornerstone Church, where he and his wife also host an international student ministry. In addition to U

Dr. Jennifer Culver

BOARD MEMBER

Dr. Jennifer Culver is a medical doctor who was active in Campus Crusade for Christ during her years at Texas A&M University. She met her husband, Michael Culver, in Sunday school and at Campus Crusade for Christ meetings. They married in 1991. Jennifer graduated from medical school at Texas Tech University in 1995 and became a family physician interested in caring for people of all ages. She stayed on faculty at Texas Tech for just over three years before she and her husband were called to move to the Plano/Frisco, Texas, area. In 2001 she established a medical practice with Medical Clinic of North Texas. Jennifer has also been active in the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. Jennifer and Michael have three adopted children from Russia. She and her family now live in Prosper, Texas.

Charles Chappell

BOARD MEMBER

Charlie has been the Vice President of Innovation, Research & Development at The Hershey Company for over three years, leading both commercial and technical teams to deliver winning innovation to consumers around the world. Charlie joined The Hershey Company eleven years ago in the Marketing organization where he rose to become Vice President – Media and Analytics. Charlie is a graduate of Purdue University where he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University where he received his MBA. He currently lives just outside of Hershey, PA with his spouse and four children.

Doug Bailey

BOARD MEMBER

Doug Briley is the CEO of Warren Douglas Advertising. Doug holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in piano performance. An accomplished pianist and composer, he appears with orchestras throughout Texas and the Midwest. He started his advertising agency in 1998 in Fort Worth, where he resides with his wife and four children.
