CLEAN WATER
Olivia's Malawi Water Well Fundraiser
Bring awareness and tangible help to a village in Malawi
We're Providing Clean Water in Malawi
In rural villages in Malawi, residents often travel several kilometers each day to collect clean, safe water for everyday use. Many are forced to share the most accessible water sources with livestock, leading to severe waterborne illnesses. The lack of access to clean water also poses significant challenges for agriculture. In these regions, there are few followers of Jesus, and those who do follow are not considered evangelical Christians.
To relieve a significant source of suffering and open doors for ministry, the local staff team, made up of church planters, is partnering with Unto to drill a deep water well in one of these villages. The local ministry has staff members in each of these villages who will partner with churches and pastors to leverage the new well as part of their evangelism and church-planting strategy. After the well is completed, the church planters will host a dedication ceremony. They will show the “JESUS” film as a gospel presentation and use other resources for one-on-one evangelism.
The local staff team will follow up with individuals who receive Christ or are interested in learning more about following Jesus, connecting them with local churches for continued discipleship. In areas where there is not yet a church, people will be connected to Bible study groups, and the staff team will train and equip them to become a church.
As the church is seen caring for the physical needs of its community, it builds trust with its neighbors and even government authorities. This credibility opens doors for gospel conversations and the growth of the local church.
