Ministry Update
Following the devastating earthquake in Colombia on August 10, thousands of people have been left injured. More than 300 deaths have been reported and there are still several hundred people missing. The United Nations recently reported that 26,500 homes have been destroyed and “more than 75,000 students no longer have safe access to their schools.”
But despite all of this devastation, there is hope.
Thanks to partners like you, Unto has been able to come alongside Cru staff and Unto partners in the area to provide critical aid, assist with rescue efforts and share hope with those who are desperately hurting.
Adriana, a Cru staff member in Colombia, recently shared, “For us, it is very special to connect with [Unto] … to open doors with humanitarian aid to share the gospel, pray for the people who are affected, and understand more how we can use the humanitarian aid to serve in this moment in our country… that’s what we need to do in this moment. Thank you!”
Clint McClure – Unto’s VP of Field Operations – and Unto President Al Goff recently traveled to a tent city outside of Cali, Colombia where thousands of displaced people are currently taking shelter.
In this tent city they met a woman named Marie. Marie shared how grateful she was for Unto’s presence because she felt like the rest of the world had forgotten her and her country.
Cru staff were able to meet her where she’s at, sharing gospel hope and caring for her in this time of need.
