LATRINES
Annual Staff Lift Campaign
Bringing awareness and tangible help to a village in Thailand
Relief, Dignity & Hope for a Community in Thailand
Every week, a small local church in Thailand opens its doors to a nearby community school, welcoming students into their building to study. Most of these children belong to the Mon and Burmese Unreached People Groups (UPGs) who have little to no access to the gospel. As a small church, their existing facilities are not sufficient to accommodate the large numbers of students throughout the day.
To meet this need and open doors for evangelism, the local team and pastor are partnering with Unto to construct a new latrine facility on the church property. By building a dignified space for students during the school day, and parents who often wait at the church to pick up their children, the project strengthens the local church’s credibility as community leaders see believers actively caring for families.
Once the latrine is completed, the local team and pastor will outline a plan for leveraging the new facility to engage visiting students and parents with the message of Jesus. The team is prayerful that 50 people per month will hear the gospel and 10 will respond in faith. As the new facility meets a community need with dignity, new doors open to support the local church and help the gospel go forth.
