Women’s Health Workshops Help Transform Communities
Kiloki* did not believe in God. As the wife of the village chief, she worshiped her Maasai ancestors and knew little about Jesus.
But then a community leader invited her to a women’s health workshop hosted by Unto® and the local staff team. At the workshop she gained valuable information about health and hygiene, received critical aid, and heard about the eternal hope of Jesus.
Kiloki wanted a relationship with Jesus and responded to the message. At first she was scared to tell her husband about her decision, but when she did, he gave her permission to attend church.
Although Kiloki’s husband does not yet follow Jesus, he has seen the difference the local team has made in his village. Recently, a well was installed in their community. Families also received portable water systems and other critical aid.
As Kiloki grew in her faith, she could not keep it to herself. She told her daughter and one of her close relatives about Jesus. Today all three women walk an hour and a half, twice a week, to attend the local church.
